April 24th 2010 marked the day when thousands of caring people took to the street and walked for ‘Autism Speaks’ in Los Angeles. Hundreds of teams took part but one team that stood out for me – ‘FriendsOfJaylen’.

I was introduced to Jack Mackenroth just like most people, during season four of “Project Runway” on Bravo. It was refreshing to see someone so open about being HIV positive. No one likes a fake. Even fakes don’t like fakes. It’s as true on Twitter and other social networks as it is in real life. How do you spot a fake? How do you avoid “mistakes” that will brand you a fake? More important, how do you build a real, authentic presence?
